Coffee is part of our lives- your life, my life.. We talk about it, think about it, contemplate how to make it better, pontificate on why it wasn't as good as we had hoped, and of course, drink it. I am sure that we all have moments where it creeps into our lives at unexpected moments. It happened to me last night.

      My wife is on vacation this week, and since the weather has been unbearably hot we have spent the early mornings getting things done, the afternoon sweating, and the evenings playing Scrabble, indoors. We were in the last quarter of the game, and space on the board as well as vowel availability had become more of an issue. My wife emitted a quick sound of joy mixed with surprise as she put the following onto the board:

      She has never used an espresso machine, being more than content to be served by me each morning and whenever she desires a cup. So for her to even see that word on her tile rack, as well as to be so excited to play that word is just one more example of how big of a part coffee plays in our life...

      And no, she did not have an "e" and "r" to increase the score for that turn.
